I am also unable to add printers in any way. gnome-cups-add runs through the
dialogs just fine, then exits without seeingly adding my printer(s). It prints
IPP request failed with status 1280 to

This bug was resolved by an upgrade of the cupsys packet downloaded and
installed this morning.

I've got the same problem.
After chosing a driver for my printer (hp or hplip), there isn't any printer in
the gnome-cups-manager (or cups web interface).
Next a part of my /var/log/cups/error_log file (after try to add my printer) :
