Inspecting the saved passwords with Seahorse, I found out that the
*account name, not the password* had been saved as "IM account password
for jabber". No wonder it could not authenticate.

It should also be noted that the icon, if logged in after setting
Radiance, will stay dark even after switching to another theme, and the
icon will stay light if Ambiance was set before logging in even if
another theme is selected.

The issue was originally reported on my desktop computer, running Ubuntu
12.04 (dual-boot with Ubuntu 11.10) and unity-lens-gwibber
3.3.6-0ubuntu2 as mentioned above.
I am now restricted to using my laptop while I'm home for spring break,
and I can also reproduc

This is a very frustrating problem. When I am on my university campus,
I use the campus wireless. When I'm at home, I use my own router. But
sometimes when I'm at home, my system picks up the fringe of the campus
wireless signal--but not strongly enough to connect to it. But it's

boot moves desktop icons
Just delete the entries for wlan0 from /etc/network/interfaces and
things should work properly. We'll still need to look again at the
alternate installer to double-check why it doesn't remove these though.
