Guess it was crashing because the galaxy nexus doesn't like .wav files,
figured out that if I clicked on device properties I could change the
transcoding options. While still being slow to recognize the galaxy
nexus and mtp still being a bit unstable at least it works.

in new tab in the background option is likable (and is the default
these days): it allows one to open a link without immediately context
switching to it; instead one can continue with the task at hand, and
switch at one's own
