Yeah, seems like something is dereferencing my /home -> /srv/home
symlink and passing this to apparmor, which denies it. If I add this to
HOMEDIRS in tunables then everything works.
We can see from my above strace that the open() call is using the path
in /home/ though. So I suspect the problem is

Hmm, there is some similarity here between this and bug 51616 if in both
cases the kernel reports the pipe as active, but in reality it is
disabled.

Since 12.04.1 (can be a bit earlier, i am not quite sure about the exact
time) this issue didn't appear again, also I'm using the latest nvidia
driver, i hope this helps
