still persist.
Using wicd, I get clean and fast shutdown in 5 seconds, with no fsck

My laptop (samsung 900x3e) screen also shows artifacts (mostly
horizontal lines)

When using the CLI, I got an error and could not install wicd on 13.04

file in Nautilus and select Rename, and then my laptop's fan sspins up
and after 30 seconds or so Nautilus terminates. (Ubuntu 12.04 with Gnome
Shell 3.4). I see this in dmesg:
