Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS. this bug still happens, even on Wayland. My screen
resolution is also 1366x768, so i guess it really is a resolution
problem.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open drawer menu (The one with 9 dots)
2. Open any folder
3. Click outside the folder or press the escape key (esc)

a reproducer to confirm the bug and its resolution with the patch; would

This might be a candidate for a SRU update; the process is outlined in

The mentioned upstream patch was included in the 1.15.2 release and
jammy and focal are unaffected; bionic does not have this patch in
1.14.5-0ubuntu1~18.04.3

So it doesn't seem to be a problem with Xorg, but maybe something more
low-level.
This bug requires immediate attention!
It makes the mouse unusable and requires crazy workarounds like mapping
a keyboard key to a click and using it as a mouse
