I confirm that if I connect the my pc at home, where there aren't proxy,

Title:
Empathy not connecting to Gtalk
Status
I've just found out why the auth log is not present: empathy-auth-client
was not running...if I manually start /usr/lib/empathy/empathy-auth-
client, the Empathy.Auth appears...
P.S. I'm behind a proxy, but Gtalk was working on oneiric (even if
connecting to Gtalk was requiring some minutes...)
It could be...in fact the behaviour is similar...but I also think is
related to Unity, in fact since I switched to Gnome Shell I don't have
this problem anymore...

I've just noticed that this bug is related to Unity, in fact, if I run
gnome shell the issue doesn't occur!

Sebastien, I'm not very familiar with ACPI, but in the log that I've
attached it seems that there is an error on ACPI, do you think we should
assign this bug also to ACPI?
Thanks

1)boot Ubuntu
2)leave pc idle without logging in

not logged in)

I've just changed bug description and title, because I've noticed that the
problem is independent from dim screen to save power
So the problem is very simple: the backlight is not restored when I move the
mouse, but I must manually turn on it.
The problem is present in only one of my laptop,
Ader,
you can find dim on idle going to

2)Screen

Public bug reported:
After upgrading from natty to oneiric I've started experiencing this
issue: if I leave the pc idle for some minutes the screen goes black
(because I think that there isn't a default screensaver - see #808512),
but I cannot re-enter my session, because the password dialog
I've just noticed that the issue of black screen is triggered also by
manually locking the screen, so I've opened a separate bug #841109,
because I'm not sure that the cause of the problem is the lack of a
default screensaver...
