Are you sure you have the gstreamer plugins installed for your gstreamer
version? Since you need the 1.x versions, make sure your plugins are also for
that version, the 0.10.x versions will not work.
FWIW: this is not an Amarok bug, but an installation mismatch of the gstreamer
plugins.

This is a long standing bug in the Collection browser we can't solve as we do
not know what triggers it. Most likely it is a caching problem with the

This is most likely a problem with the Spectrum Analyzer and OpenGL, you
can workaround this for the moment and disable the analyzer by editing
the ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc file and set this value:

Did you try to build it against libav? Ubuntu doesn't use ffmpeg, and I
think this is the issue here: this package was built against ffmpeg
instead of libav. I very regularly build my own Amarok from git and with
libav there is no problem, transcoding works.

But: I don't want it to use the HDMI port, that is on the screen and I
have no sound if it outputs to there.It should just use the default.
Anyway: after a restart it defaults the output to the HDMI port again,
and there is again no default profile set.

I can't reproduce this at all. You might want to erase your
$HOME/.kde/share/config/amarokrc file, so it will ask you again to
specify the correct folder on the next Amarok start.
