Every time Firefox starts it produces a file not found page saying
File not found
Firefox can’t find the file at /snap/snapd/current/usr/bin/snap.
Check the file name for capitalisation or other typing errors.
Check to see if the file was moved, renamed or deleted.
Not a lot, in fact nothing while the attempt to download was made,
twice. Attached is the journalctl from the point at which the snap
version of Firefox was launched

Yes, I can confirm it happens for me with the gnome calculator too.
Also, I'm running at 2560x1440 with scale=100% on one affected machine
and 3200x1800 with scale=200% on another, which I think means that it
isn't hidpi or scaling related.

Is this still an issue? As pointed out up thread it appears to be the
same one as reported in bug #50784 and over on Ubuntu Launchpad. The
Launchpad bug appears to indicate that CUPS v1.6.2 (2013-03-18) included
a patch that specifically addressed this problem:

Issue is still reproducible under v3.5.7.2 (Ubuntu v10.04 x86_64) and
v4.0.1.2 (Win7).

I seem to be seeing a very similar issue on 12.04LTS after taking the
latest update (everything was fine before that). I was getting
graphical corruption, the apport-gpu-error-intel.py crash report, and
the machine would hang.

In fact, I can't reproduce it exactly this way 100% reliably. Sometimes
it sticks around, usually it doesn't. Trying again just now, but
logging out instead of rebooting, it stayed, but the System Settings
show that there is no shortcut for Maximize Vertically (but the shortcut
does work). Reboo
