able to contact the Video Download helper people so I   hope you may be able to help since there seems to be something   different with Firefox or possibly Ubuntu 11.10.   (Everything worked fine with Ubuntu 11.04, the older Firefox and the   older Video Download helper)   Thank you,   Pol

Since I always keep an image copy of previous systems I ended up going back to a previous "clean" installation after completely wipeing my system drive. I do not know what caused this problem and have now moved on to a fresh install from a CD ROM package of a newer version (11.04). Thank you. --
