I have two machines running 12.04 with Evolution 3.2.3, the problem

I have managed to make it work by killing e-addressbook-server and all
the other evolution processes, deleting the ldap password from my
keyring and starting again. It is conceivable that the keyring became
corruupt, but the password has not changed in yonks, so something is
rotten somewhere.

If one copies a contact from a local addressbook to an ldap addressbok,
and that contact name is already in the ldap addressbook, Evolution
crashes.
If I run Evolutioin in the foreground then the only diagnostic I get is
dragging 1 card(s)
Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)
I still have this problem on a Lenovo T61p running 12.04 with pulseuadio
1;1.1-0ubuntu15.4. All newly updated today 10Feb2014.
Kernel is 3.2.

In 12.10 64bit with Gnome I have the same error message. It starts
happening after a few days uptime and affects all applications started
from the menus.
It is still possible to run the applications from the command line.
