Typically this happens when I have 4 windows open. This seems to be a
new issue for me, dating back perhaps a couple of weeks. I've used this
particular 4 terminal setup for years without issues. When the issue
occurs, all terminal windows vanish instantly, and I need to
Ahaha so ubuntu-settings was rolled out into Lunar overnight NOT
gnome-control-settings.
I had forgotten that I had originally tagged the wrong app - in fact, I'm not
going to have to go and look up the difference between them :)
So - false alarm - It's not ready yet :)

I had successfully opened settings and used it to change some of the desktop

Then I clicked on "Users" and ubuntu-settings crashed.
Since then, I am unable to open ubuntu-settings - it will open and flash up on
the screen before
I'm having similar issues. Following what Fabio mentioned, I think I had
a firewall issue but disabling the firewall was not enough, I needed to
restart the wifi after disabling the firewall. I guess that is the
sequence which addresses the problem for Fabio too.

Just to add on to my last comment... something is really broken for my
configuration - after ten minutes of trying to get all three monitors to
wake up and play ball with the screen display settings windows and it
only ever enabling two out of the three (sometimes 1 & 3, sometimes 1 &
2 and
I believe I too am affected by this problem.
I have three monitors attached to my system all on the same GTX950
(GM206) adapter and after waking up from sleep the active windows move
around and most annoyingly the system often struggles to 'find' all
three monitors again - even though it shoes

I used apport-cli -c to create Bug #1916463 as the suggested workaround
did not really work out. I will add the other requested files there.
Maybe then this bug can be closed as being a duplicate.

- Which version of WSL you are using?
- What is the output of `echo $DISPLAY` if you open a terminal from the link
created by wslu?
- What is the content of `/etc/resolv.conf`?

I am using Xming 7.7.0.60 on Windows 10 Pro 20H2 version 19042.746 build
with WSL2.
Even after a while the GUI won't open. If I run `terminator` command
from wsl terminal it opens fine on Xming, so I don't think it's X server
issue. And before `apt update` yesterday, those desktop shortcuts

I've tested the version from PPA:
$ wslusc --version
wslu v3.2.1-1; wslusc v40
$ wslusc --gui terminator

Also, if I open the desktop shortcut properties I see that target is
truncated:

After upgrading to Kubuntu 20.10, from 20.04 occasionally when I turn my
computer on the sound card doesn't work. If I load Pulse Audio Volume
Control and disable and then re-enable the audio controller (Family 17h
(Models 00h-0fh) HD Audio Controller it will work again.

my setup.
