applet stopped working. Going to

I removed and tried readding with same result. When adding back the
/var/log/syslog shows:

Result: VPN passwords are saved correctly again!

white Macbook, 2.4 GHz. dual-booting with MacOS 10.6.8, using rEFInd. I
have never seen the menu bar of Ubuntu Mate on this install, it was

Problem occurs 100% of the time on two Mint Cinnamon 64 bit machines
after the latest round of updates when shutting down or restarting from
whisker menu. 'shutdown (-r) now' works without an error.
The most commonly reported 'fix' for this problem is purging old
kernels. I just reinstalled 18.3 C
I can confirm that #19 works, as well. Also applied the suggestions in #24.
Ubuntu 17.10 on a Lenovo Ideapad Y910-17ISK with a GTX 1070.
I don't notice any flicker or any problem. The audio device has just appeared,
and everything works fine now :-)

You are correct, Pat. There is no scanning that is activated when you
pull down the networking indicator like in OSX. So this is more likely
to be related to waking up. Sounds like the passive network scanning
(driver / wpa supplicant?) isn't working when the phone goes into power
save mode to me.

I have problems with lost margins printing to a new OfficeJet 6700 using
HPLIP version 3.14.1. Printing the test page on A4 paper during
installation of 3.14.1 gave correct results. After installation, I
changed the paper size from letter back to A4 and printed a test page.
