Does a different driver (PPD) help? I had this problem with a PPD
downloaded from the Canon website, but the one supplied with Ubuntu
worked fine.

I have an Epson Stylus Office BX925FWD, or what I think is an Epson Workforce
840 series printer. In Quantal (Not Precise - then it was fine...), printing a
test page results in 'Idle - can't detect file type' in the Red Hat
system-config-printers application, AKA
Oh and printing anything else txt files web pages etc works fine, this
is just a concern.
