This problem still exists: The password does not need to be re-entered
after a standard user switch, but it has to be re-entered (sometimes
even up to 3 times!) if the laptop went to sleep mode while a different
user was logged in.

Similar situation with me, I've installed Ubuntu 16.04 after that
installed the meta-package for lubuntu and both "gnome-screensaver" and
"light-locker" were active.
When using lxde/lxqt in some cases (as closing laptop lid, etc.) gnome-
