With such an Adapter U just don't get the EDID transported well (not at
all). This ugly truth hits up sometimes in the Help-forums. So just
don't use or U have to fill in the information manually.

Hello Christopher @penalvch, you're the Jon Skeet of launchpad :-).
Honestly, I don't care about a backport.
The machine is currently running Debian actually. Had I needed Ubuntu, I
would have used 16.04 anyway.
So, I'll mark this as invalid as you request (I would not have
considered "invalid",
gouri, would you need a backport to a release prior to Xenial?
If not, please mark this as Status Invalid.
