Hi guys,
this vote passed with the following result:
+1 (binding): JB Onofré, Matt Pavlovich, Christopher Shannon, Robbie Gemmell
+1 (non binding): Charlie Chen, François Papon

Yes, JB voting twice doesnt actually count double :D
Since changes are in process of being made to resolve and prevent the JDK17
build regression for future releases, and it does still run on 17 which is
enough for many users...even though I would have fixed it first, I'll
change mine to +1 just
We still need another binding vote if anyone has a chance to take a look,
thanks.

Based on that I'll change to a +1. We can fix it for the next release.

I think we go with the release. There is no Java code change for JDK 17, so
this feels like a minor packaging-only change.

I propose to keep this vote running and fix for next release. The
broker should run fine with JDK17 (only build is impacted).
Thoughts ? If you prefer, I can cancel this vote and do a new one. No
problem for me.

FYI— The JDK 17 building issue is due to the ianal-maven-plugin verifying legal
files. I was able to do a full build w/ JDK 17(minus unit tests) once this was
resolved.
I have a PR running unit tests to clear this up, and will add a JDK 17 rule to
the JenkinsFile as a follow-up.
ref:
+1
- Ran full unit-tests from the 5.17.x branch on a private system (All tests but
1 known flakey test passed)
- Ran internal test suite
- Fired up the distribution and sent/cleared some messages
Thanks,
Matt Pavlovich

+0, I'm ok releasing but it would be nice to fix since it's a regression.
The most important thing to me is it runs on JDK 17 because the download
page advertises as Java 11+ which as a user I'd assume is for runtime. If I
recall we added JDK 11 build support officially in 5.17.x and not JDK 17.
-0 (binding)
The build fails almost immediately on JDK 17, which is a regression
from 5.17.1. At this point, half way to the next JDK LTS, I personally
think thats a blocker for any release I do, but I've gone with -0 to
let the view of those doing the work here govern what happens, since
it does

Hi,
please avoid to post this kind of message on the vote thread.
AMQ-8617 will be included in 5.17.3 (after review).

It would be great if you could include
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMQ-8617 - it has a PR included.
I set the bug to MINOR when submitting it, but it is pretty blatant and
completely ruins the queue that is affected when you use exponential
backoff redelivery, enable non-blocking
