Look at the scp task. It will take a fileset. But what you describe,
with the temp tar (or tar.gz, I would suggest), can be more efficient if
you have a lot of data to transfer.
Also, a question like this is better suited for the user list. The dev

this could be added to Ant as a standard feature?

This is really a question for the users list. You should also include
specific portions of your build.xml and specific questions about the
issues you are facing. Simple stating "I am having a very tough time..."
does not really pose a question that people are likely to respond to.

This is really a question for the user list, not the dev list. Also, you
could be more specific about what kind of server you are using (vendor,
version, etc.). Not trying to be rude, but please take a look at this

If you have problems using Ant, please post a specific questions to the

This question should go to the users list, not the dev list.
The ant-weblogic.jar should be bundled with the version of Ant that
comes with weblogic. Search your WEBLOGIC_HOME recursively for it. You
could also try using the version of Ant that came with weblogic, if you
are not already.

Jason, I am still using Ant, and I am still using ClearCase. While we currently
are not using the ClearCase Ant Tasks, we perhaps will be using them in the
future. Your enhancements are quite interesting. I have a new ClearCase related

Thanks. It works. Now
I have implemented this fileset selector. It seems to work. Can we add this to
Ant? Before I open an enhancement request, I'd like to get some feedback.

I have written a new selector for creating a fileset. This selector will select
files that are checked out of clearcase. How do I configure Ant to recognize my
new selector? Or does it automatically recognize anything in the package
org.apache.tools.ant.types.selectors?

Yes. It works as expected when setting the checkdirs attribute to true. I will
attempt to update the documentation and submit a patch to the bug report I
mentioned earlier. Thanks for your help.

this is true? If so, I welcome any suggestions on how to accomplish this given
the current functionality. Thanks,

You should submit an enhancement request and attache the files to the request.
Requests can be submitted at
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/enter_bug.cgi?product=Ant
Post the bug # to the users list once you have submitted it. Users who think
these will be usefull additions to Ant will vote

I got this link by following the Ant API link in the manual. Are the javadocs

load properties from a file based on the value of a property passed in on the
command line. Here is a little build file to illustrate my point...
Please specify the environment on the command line...

I am interested in this. This would be usefull for building and deploying Java
webapps also. If the commiters are not interested in adding this functionality
to ant (which I would guess is the case), a sourceforge project may be the best
option.
