Great!
To keep everything in order, here is +1 from me.
I think we have now everything ready.
Official voting results are following:
Michael Gentry (PMC): +1
Mike Kienenberger (PMC): +1 (thanks for missing file catch!)
Andrus Adamchik (PMC): +1
Aristedes Maniatis (PMC): +1

Yes, I'm a +1 too. I also played with modeler a bit on Java 9, OSX on
Retina screen which is looking good.

Assuming that the slf4j-api.jar file isn't a showstopper,
- signatures and checksums match
- source builds
- apache rat passes
+1
Below are the linux commands I used to verify the release of the
cayenne-4.0.RC1 files:
=
wget
Checking the release. Why does slf4j-api-1.7.25.jar exist in
cayenne-4.0.RC1-tar-gz but not in cayenne-4.0.RC1-win.zip?
# diff -rq cayenne-4.0.RC1-tar-gz/ cayenne-4.0.RC1-win/
[...]
Only in cayenne-4.0.RC1-tar-gz/lib/third-party: slf4j-api-1.7.25.jar
[...]
All of my release steps passed, with the caveat that I only have Java 8
right now. If someone has Java 7 (the minimum required for 4.0) installed
and can evaluate with it, that would be appreciated. I also didn't try
Java 9, either (since I uninstalled it for various reasons).
UPGRADE.txt says
This is great! I won't be able to get to it until the weekend, though, but
we generally allow longish vote/evaluation times, so that shouldn't be an
issue.
Thanks,
mrg

This release is on me, don't have much discussion off-list about it either :)
As the release preparation doesn't take much time for me
Excellent! Although did I miss a discussion that this was happening
right now?
I think quite a lot of discussion and decision making must be happening
off-list, because I also note that all the docbook was converted to
asciidoc also without any mention on this list. That's a curious choice
Hi all,
4.0 release candidate is here!
It includes new Modeler icon design plus bug fixes (as always see
release notes).
