We used to use an approach not dissimilar from this before the Google maps API for flash, but ultimately found it to be restrictive. It also incurred some significant performance overheads when you start doing more complicated integrations. I don't see any alternatives if you want Google imagery

When pasting, Excel will accept html table format, but doesn't recognise csv. I assume Word is the same as Excel if you have a table first. You're probably going to want separate controls to write the clipboard according to desired format; create the content as a html table/csv/whatever string
