I am afraid that I have to downvote this for two reasons:
1. JAnsi requires Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package

Something is still fishy about it.

Hello Maven Committers,
I would like to kindly ask to consider my PRs for merging:
* Plexus Utils: https://github.com/codehaus-plexus/plexus-utils/pull/12
* Plexus Utils: https://github.com/codehaus-plexus/plexus-utils/pull/13
* Maven Plugins: https://github.com/apache/maven-plugins/pull/
good concern
Here is my personal analysis on this important topic
Until now, our full color strategy was based on logging implementation: then
logging implementation was a strategic choice
But the current strategy is now to put color in messages, independantly from
logging implementation: see

That same discussion will take place for Maven 3.5, 3.6, 3.7 and so on.

those changes...but this changes behaviour so we might need to make a

It can be used to exclude a dependency globally by flagging it optional
in dependency man

Even then I'm -1 and prefer extra elements in the model 5.
Maybe the description is misleading, because IIRC this is more about

Hi,
based on the feedback of the tests for current Maven 3.4.0-SNAPSHOT
testing I have taken a deeper look into some of the changes.
Based on the above issue we now have changed the behaviour of Maven
3.4.0 compared to 3.3.9 (and before).
It looks like this change breaks some builds...

True words. What is actually wrong with the color support in Logback?
Regardless of this, issues filed with Logback can take a very long time
to fix. Some of mine are still open after several years. I'd rather have
