No "addAll" method on ArrayList?

Any particular reason there is no "addAll(Collections list)" method in ArrayList? Or in List itself? I see lots of times in our code that we iterate over one list and add the elements one at a time to another list, which could be simplified by having that logic in the List class(es) themselves...
