As mentioned by Jignesh, I use the personal fork model that Julian
recommends and it worked fine for me every time. Also, it may prove easier
to adopt and understand for future committers and beginners in the
community.

I ran this with SBB 100 on cloudlab. The experiments mentioned in the
header did not include the HashJoin modification, these results do.

I see a mix of approaches to opening PR in Quickstep and we do not have a set
policy.
