The way it works is slightly different
In the appConfig.json you will say
"site.xyz.port" : "${COMPONENT_NAME.ALLOCATED_PORT}"
This tells Slider that you want the port to be allocated. Once Slider
allocates a port it will modify the in-memory copy of the applied

along with the Yarn-Status. There is some merit to it such as:
* Failed vs Frozen
* Starting/Not Ready (app components are being activated) vs. Running (from
YARN perspective)
* Unhealthy (say Master is down) vs. Running

One clarification, today you can advertise one config property - the
problem is that the last component instance to advertise will win. This
works for applications with single master or single monitoring UI.
With apps like Vertica, memcached, or even multiple masters, this does not
