I had raised some questions earlier in another thread (Halting/Refreshing Apps
on the Phone), one of which was that the commonly supported window.close()
method didn't work on Firefox (any version) and the documentation says it won't
work (but doesn't say why it doesn't work on Firefox when it
Hello,
I am trying to build B2G for Sony Xperia Arch.
while building its trying to fetch some packages from firefox website.
Why is so?
I am not having Internet access in my laptop.
But I can download all the required packages to build the B2G.
Finally I want to build my B2G in a manner that

My questions is this: if an app is open (but not in the foreground), is it
running or halted? Does it take up resources? Or like some other phone
systems, does it start shutting down older open apps when it runs out of
memory?

Hey Tim, we just finished updating the code for the UI test that
switches DNT settings in Settings app. Now it checks the Gaia setting
and Gecko pref.
Apologies it took a bit longer than expected!

ha!
Ok well it has given us the impetus to upgrade some other tests that
were previously only checking the settings to now check the prefs, too.

I know what you mean about the ZTE Open, my flashing efforts have left
it with an infinite boot time. In comparison an old nexus s got
flashed without problem. Downside being it appears that the nexus s is
holding value better than one would expect from such an old phone:

Hi folks,
what would be an easy way to read the battery uptime of a device? Unlike
Android, I didn't find this info in the settings.
Background: I flashed a self-compiled build on my nexus-s running in flight
mode on november 1st, and left the phone somewhere in the pocket. When I took

If you have the Android SDK, you just need to |adb shell uptime| and report
back here ;)

Actually I bought a used Nexus-S in almost newish condition for even less that
I paid for the crappy ZTE Open which I flashed dead because of the broken
bootloader 2 days later and which catches dust because ZTE is still unwilling
to help me (see my other postings about that).
The Nexus-S has
Although I don't know a solution for this, I see the same problem. I really
don't like the build system which dynamically fetches stuff when needed and
when one mirror is down then the build completely breaks after i.e. 2 hours.
This is completely against the fail early principle. The build
Thanks...it says 25 days and 3 hours. But how do I get the info when I last
unplugged the charger?
