That's really odd. Did you file a bug for that? If not, please do, and share
the link!
Is this happening in the addon installation process or "regular" file download?
If the first, did you try right click -> save as to download the XPI and open
it in Fx after the download has finished?

The problem is, as soon the download window loses focus, Firefox aborts
the download. It's simply not reliable :-/
Hence the question, whether wget can do the job as well.

Have you tried connecting your tablet to the App Manager?
You could take pictures from there :)
