Hello, I am developing an activity to plot graphs of 1st and 2nd degree
polynomials to be used by high school students in Sminthi, Greece, and maybe
elsewhere :) You can check the wiki at

Most Activity related work is now going on over at Sugar Labs

This program was developed by the Environmental Systems Research Institute

develop this activity via GSoC 2008. A brief abstract of my proposal

This is a proposal for the creation of a new activity for the XO that
would advance localization efforts in TTS development, as well as promote
the involvement of the local community

Hi Gary,
thanks for this nice activity - pointed my attention to the lunar
eclipse tonight. Hence, I had to feature it in my little install
tutorial: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Browse#Install_an_activity
Looking forward for your next contributions.

Hi Joshua,
Can this or the Screen Reader project be adapted to reading content,
such as the children's picturebooks provided in the Library? (We would
presumably need a text file to go with each document.)
We are working on a speech-server for providing all these features.
Currently we are

Hi everyone,
I made a new activity called Speak. It is a talking face for the
XO laptop. Anything you type will be spoken aloud using the XO's
speech synthesizer, espeak. You can adjust the accent, rate and pitch
of the voice as well as the shape of the eyes and mouth. This is a

in the movement of the cursor and in the individual moving it.

This is pretty fantastic. I've enjoyed playing around with it.
I'm glad you like it :)
One simple change that I think would add a lot is some color. More
specifically, the XO uses a two-tone (stroke fill) color scheme as a
form of visual

Hello,
I developed a new activity for OLPC and I would like that someone can check
on a real machine. I need this test to find out if I have to install modules
/ packages before using the software.
In my code, I use import Image (PIL), and I do not know if it is already
installed by default OLPC
