Why not just use the same IP?
Name based virtual hosting IMO is easier to do.
Richard.

Allen,
The IP Aliasing Mini-HOWTO --
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/mini/IP-Alias/index.html -- might get you
started in the right direction.

IS there a way to configure my external network card to answer to 2 or 3 ip
numbers.
I want it to look like my company.com is at 111.222.333.3
and friend.com is at 111.222.333.4
and friend2.com is at 111.222.333.5
but all three websites hosted on the same e-smith server with

Thanks Mr. Wizard :-) Very much appreciated.

Hello Keith,
Thanks for the kind words! We've switched to a more flexible system for
detecting and configuring ethernet cards, but it behaves slightly
differently than before. We support more ethernet cards than ever, but
they aren't all listed individually in the menu.
For the Realtek 8029 use

I've just installed rc3 and it spots the network card first time.
Having trouble logging via browser to e-smith-manager ie no
connection.
Putting the test rig back together at the moment and will try again.
On another note I only have a 56k and the rc3 took about 18hrs to
download (w

Hello Keith,
rc4 is now available for download; the next version after rc4 will
probably be e-smith 4.1 final. (Which will fix at least one bug in rc4
related to permissions in the primary/html directory after upgrade.)

Thanks, glad you enjoy it! Please tell
Realtek 8029
and D Link 530Tx.
There are no cards listed in the choose network card list and it is
not recognised upon installation.
I'm d/l rc3 at the moment, will this recognise the cards or is there
a workaround until final release?
Thanks

Whoops - thanks for the correction, Charlie.
The latest available version right now is rc3. As Charlie said - we will
decide tomorrow whether there will be an rc4 or whether we'll go to 4.1
final.
We'll keep you posted!

That's not good. I'll contact you off-list and ask for further det
I am performing a new e-smith 4.1.1 install on a new system.
The motherboard is a brand-new AOpen MX3S with onboard Intel nic.
The console auto selects the network card as an Intel Etherpro100
however after the install finishes the eepro100 module fails to load.
I've done some trial and
I went ahead and I tried typing in that information but it keeps coming back
saying "Permission Denied". You have to excuse me, I am new to E-Smith, and
overall, very new to Linux.
I was told a cheap Reltek card would work great, so I went out and purchased
the Realtek NIC, threw it in there
I still can't get my E-Smith to see my network. I don't know if it is even
seeing my card. I went ahead and went into the command prompt and typed
"ifconfig".
I received information for the lo, but there was no eth0, which I was told
was the network card.
This mean

Correct, but that could be for many reasons - unsupported card, wrong
driver chosen, etc.
