I had a working SME 5.6 Box with Proxypass, SARG and Update5 installed.
However I needed to install Portforwarding, so installed this contribs
e-smith-packetfilter-1.13.0-04.noarch.rpm 32 2/20/2003 9:45 pm For SME5.6
e-smith-portforwarding-0.1.0-20.noarch.rpm 14 2/20/2003 9:45 pm For SME5.6

Alejandro, this is not a help list, but a list to discuss technical
aspects of development projects. Please seek help on the peer support

of a contrib package directly.

AFAIK both my Port Opening and Port Forwarding rpms should work on all 5.x
platforms. Unless you have a bug report that states differently. Do you?
Only my most recent ProxyPass rpm does not work

Port-forwarding is one big omission from an otherwise great product,
IMHO. I have used some sort of pf at all my customers. Even your panel
lacks the important element of granting forwards to only certain
IP's/Domains.
I used to set up home-grown ipchains firewalls with the help of
pmfirewall. I

I tried it again this morning and had NO problems at all using Darrell

No problem. Thanks for confirming it does work on 5.5 ;-

Hi

EXTIP=123.4.5.6
INTIP=10.0.0.65
ipmasqadm portfw -a -P tcp -L $EXTIP 80 -R $INTIP 80

Did you have a chance to check the port fowarding RPM
That is Charlie's contrib rpm. Do you have a problem to report or are
you just asking me if I've tried it, which I have not, as yet.
I'll add this to my ToDo list.

I do not have the option to change the port numbers, as the application

Is there a simple way yet in e-smith (want to make sure I've not just
over looked it) to do port forwarding with the E-smith
gateway/firewall?

Yes, there are some pretty detailed posts in the e-smith user forums that
should explain this process.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all those who assisted
me on this thread. Special thanks goes to e-smith for directly
coming to my aid on solving this client issue. Adrian Chung
and Charlie Brady were very instrumental in troubleshooting
all the issues we encountered. Thanks guys!
I have just downloaded and installed the new RedHat 7.1 beta (Fisher). There is now a
firewall-config program included that lets you do fort forwarding, etc. Maybe we can
get a similar setup in e-smith 4.2?
Unfortunately, it is X-Windows but I am sure all you smart guys will give us poor
