Hi all,
since I wanted to better understand how Docker works, as an evening
project I created a Dockerfile for packaging an image that can be used
to run an XWiki container.
It also supports data persistence, so that you don't lose your data

Hi,
I remember of having agreed also on exploring an alternative for
packaging XAR files in a simpler way that doesn't involve XML.
I did some work on this front: XWikiFS (https://github.com/fmancinelli/xwikifs)
It already works but it lacks the most important feature to make it
really usable...

Hi Paul,
as Ludovic said, at the seminar we had some brainstorming about this.
To make things advance I wrote a first attempt at something that should be
usable: XWikiFS - https://github.com/fmancinelli/xwikifs
It basically parses a directory structure and builds a XAR from it.

Hi,
you can just sent a PUT request to the following URI:
/rest/wikis/YOURWIKI/spaces/THE_SPACE_WHERE_YOU_WANT_TO_CREATE_THE_PAGE/pages/THE_NAME_OF_THE_PAGE_YOU_WANT_TO_CREATE
the body should be either an XML that follows the schema defined for

So it definitely needs some more investingation to make it compatible

supports all that we need (embeddable server, multi user chat, etc.)
and has a quite active community. Other solutions were either GPLv3,

Hi everybody,
one of the research projects we are involved in is about realtime
collaboration. One of the aspects we wanted to investigate was the
integration of a chat system within XWiki.
I've been working on this lately and I've built a prototype that uses
an embedded XMPP server for handling a

Hi Paul,
SOLR integration is indeed a very interesting project.
However, this year, I am not willing to be a mentor because I will
have some pretty busy months coming and, thus, not too much time to
follow a GSOC.
So if you can be a mentor, it would be great!
I might of course give some help if n
Hi everybody,
at XWiki we are participating in different research activities, many
of them focused on cloud computing.
As a part of this research efforts we've build this project that
allows you to deploy XWiki in different cloud environments.
In the current state, it allows to build an XWiki dis
Very nice Caty!
I have some remarks though...
* Shouldn't there be a prominent and always visibile "Download XWiki"
button somewhere?
* I've noticed that all the current blog posts are really just release
announcements... As Paul said, it's a bit monothematic. I am not sure
that such a big space

Hi,
I see the problem which happens during this "transition phase [1]"
while upgrading an existing XEM.
Maybe we can mitigate it by checking if we are upgrading a farm or
installing a fresh XEM.
In the first case the Workspace template creation can be avoided
(because it's clear that we are in a

Hi everybody,
I would like to propose Jun Han as a new committer on
https://github.com/xwiki/xwiki-eclipse
Jun took part to the last GSoC, working on the RESTification of XEclipse.
The project aimed at developing a new backend for XEclipse so that it
could take advantage of the XWiki RESTful API.
Hi everybody,
I've just merged the work done by Jun Han in the master branch of the
XEclipse repo (https://github.com/xwiki/xwiki-eclipse)
Jun has worked during the summer for this GSoC project.
Here it is a summary of what has been done, as summarized by Jun:
Major work is listed below:

Hi everybody,
a follow-up about the discussion, sorry for the delay.
I am working towards merging Jun's code in order to have a release.
I think that my preference goes towards the following plan:
1) Leave the 1.2RC1 as it is and deprecate it
2) Merge Jun's work in order to release it and call
+1, following Vincent's recommendations.
Thanks,
Fabio
