Well, I am not now running digital on my 580, but I did before I got the
Jupiter. Worked like a charm. Now the 580 lurks in the background,
hoping for the day it can return.

I am thinking of a Galaxy V MK2 or an even older
Gonset G-76 modified for DSB.
Someone sells a VFO stabilizer device which may
work to make either stable enough.
Either that or I could dedicate the FT-890 to
digital and use the Galaxy (400W) for voice.

see a lot of difference in it and packet.
In my opinion it is just some where between packet
and pactor.

No, sorry, not just yet, at some point when Charles and I have the time.
With MARS-ALE all Kenwood radios are supported by virtue of the radio
ID being read at program start, then the software treats the radio as
to its particular capabilities, it the ID is not read for any reason,
