bass/treble to see if it makes any real difference when receiving ?

Leave the Treble and Bass at defualt - mid range, leave the Graphic
Equalizer OFF for ham digital modes. The ham software has DSP
"filters" built in and the Graphic Equalizer may not add any
additional filtering.
