Here is the latest - I tried to plug in a USB 2.0 hub between the newer Macbook Air and the charging cart - still adb devices displayed only eight tablets. adb version revealed 1.0.29, so I downloaded the newest, 1.0.32, and there was no change. I saw one post where someone plugged in a tablet

I was looking to do a dry run test with do-release-upgrade to see if a system could successfully be upgraded from 12.04 to 14.04 after some changes had been made. (An earlier attempted failed to map packages from the old release to the new release.) do-release-upgrade doesn't have a dry run

Getting some older Macs is workable. If I [also] went with option 2, does anyone have recommended devices? We do have some Mac-based software that will look for a USB port, so if a USB to Thunderbolt adapter/converter/fob exists, there would need to be software to intercept USB calls and direct
