Hi all,
I'd like to know if any of you have some experience with iPhone
interaction design. To me, it looks like iPhone applications are
sometimes dominated by devs that are able to create their apps
without any help. Obviously, I am referring to what it looks like an
early stage of the iPhone
Hi all,
I am looking for good examples of product user's rating systems in
terms of visual representation. Do you have any suggestions or
reference I could have a look at?
thanks

Hi all,
I was wondering if you have food example of forms with both inline
and onSubmit validation i.e. a form that validates the fields onBlur
and gives you a feedback when you click continue...
Thanks!

As most of you pointed out, working closely with developers is
probably the best way to ensure your design is well understood and
implemented. But it is also a good way to understand what wthe
technical problems are and it's perfect to solve them faster,
without meetings or email ( I am referring
I think that a good starting point should be the difference between
primaryu and secondary actions (when talking about forms). In telling
so, I refer to the work done by Luke Wroblewski on form design. In
some cases, having a link is a good way to visually differentiate the
secondary action from
It could also be related to Catholicism: God created the Heavens and
the Earth and on the seventh day he rested. Which means that his week
started on Monday :-)

I know this is more an emotional design example but I think it is a
good example:

I have been trying bike-sharing service in Rome and I think it is
quite a good idea. There are some weak points in the process though
and I'd like to ask if you guys know how other contexts solved them.
Some details about the service in Rome (www.roma-n-bike.com):

Hi all,
it's good to hear from you! At this point, I think that it could be
a good idea to have an Italian IxDA group. I have received also some
emails about the group and I invite the ones who may be interested in
participating at this discussion :)
thanks!

Hi,
I am trying to organise a local group of IxDA here in Rome. But I'd
like to know if any of you would found it interesting :) (also
looking for help, ofc!)

I think the idea of having more conversational labels is useful when
it does not make things even more complex. In this case, user kind of
knows at what time she will arrive or wants to communicate a defined

Once I had an interesting discussion with a friend. We had just red
Tackara's book and we were discussing about the role that
'waiting' has in our society. It seems to us that waiting is a loss
of time, a waste.
Do you know that in Israel they teach time? Students learn how to
manage time and
What kind of music do you listen (when you can) while brainstorming,
analysing, designing interactions?
Are there any songs that would make our design flow better?
Let's make a playlist :)

I really enjoyed your video: very good job. There are also some
interesting points about contexts: the book by Barbara is definitely
worth reading. Mobile design is so young that references are never
enough.

@Jarod, Chauncey, Angel: I am going to update the doc with your
suggestions but if you have more, please write them there ;)
@James: this is really interesting. Do you think that the perception

what kind of iPhone development are you looking for? I suggest you to clear
your ideas on that. You can develop an iPhone app in two different
ways\style: web development and native app. Both have pros and cons. Which
one you should go for depends on what your app(s) are going to be like.

hi all,
new year has started and I'd like to have an overview on the must-be
conferences so that I can plan my partecipations a little bit.
And since this is the best place to ask...well, i'm asking :D
what are in your opinion the conferences we should not miss and why?

Universal design is always misunderstood probably because of the name.
Can a design be universal and what does it mean? Usually, universal
means less customized: something that should work for everybody
won't give us the best UX. But this is obviously important in
specific contexts and
uhm...what about a scrolling feature that,if the user accelerates,
gradually zoomes out? in this way, you would scroll but at the same
time you'll need to scroll less, since the more you do that the more
the pages is visible in its entire height-width

Experience is teaching me that visaul designers who have dev
capabilities integrate more easier in teams since they can relate to
designers and to developers as well.

I have tried the Rabb.it for a little bit. It's always a great thing
when the tools grows in number. Anyhow, I think that you can work
more on the interface that in some points (e.g. page linking) is not
very user-friendly.
The fact that it's a browser-based tool could be a plus IF

hi all,
I think that the date format could be an issue. I'd rather prefer a
text field for day and year and a dropdown for month (it's also
easier to select the month instead of either writing it or understand
which format has been used). If you feel that the conversational
paradigm is the way to

Hi Tiago,
I am using Nokia PC Suite as a tool to keep my phone sync'ed. I use
it with iPhoto band iTunes. I recently bought an iPhone and it seems
that my pc-suite is now by mac itself :)
I think that a PC Suite should be the less invasive as possible. I'd
love to simply connect my phone and
What about some info about the control(s) you want to give help for?
Is it a helptip system or a help guide you want to provide? In the
