Hello everybody and excuse me for the crossposting,
I'd like to report a strange issue I have with Mapserver and PostGis
in order to get some new ideas on the problem.
[Environment]
* Ubuntu Karmic Server
* Mapserver 5.4.2
* Postgres 8.3.9
* Postgis 1.5.1
* Postgis table with +3 Multipolygon
Hello Yves,
yes, it was one of the things I tried (but I forgot to mention) I
checked the SHP geometry with ArcGis and also the Postgis geometry.
I've even used the Tim Sutton cleangeometry function. There wasn't any
variation :(
Thanks,

Dear All,
Thanks for the pointers with setting up #osgeo-uk on freenode- it worked a
treat (as far as I could tell). Logging would be good, if it's possible to set
that up for us (or tell me how to set that up)
Thanks
Jo

Hey Yves,
I agree it's a shame there is not more coordination when it comes to
accommodation.
I myself booked the Vincci Arena Hotel, and I heard of some others booking
the Onix Fira.
Best regards,

Hi,
There is a section with a list of places to stay at wikipage at
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Barcelona_Local_Chapter_-_helping_FOSS4G_2010#Hostales.2Fbed.26breakfast
.
I created a separate wikipage listing the place and the persons planning to
stay there.
Thanx Chaitanya for the reply. This looks more like a list of places.
I didn't find *where* people go, which is what I'm really looking for.
Thanx anyways,
Yves

You could use GDAL's ogr2ogr (I think it's packaged in FWTools) to convert
CSV (http://www.gdal.org/ogr/drv_csv.html) to a shapefile. Or, depending
on what your plans are for the data, you may want to load the points into
PostGIS/Postgres for better performance, more flexibility in querying,
etc.
