OK, I dug more into this and found it's not a SlimServer problem at all.
It's just that SoftSqueeze won't seem to play the stream that comes out
of a Live365 broadcast through the SlimServer. If I plug Windows Media
Player (ugh) into port 9000/stream.mp3, then I get the sound.

Album tags indeed.
The explanation in the interface is then wrong: "A list of articles
("the", "les", "los", etc.) to ignore at the beginning of artist or
album names when sorting." So I guess either the text or the behaviour
should be fixed.
I definately don't want them to be seen as being on t

You're talking about the album name in the tags, right? The ignore

Thanks for the info, although this is strange. Because the extra covers
are not for downloaded mp3s, but for the albums i converted from my own
CDs. And i do definately not know how to embed cover art in the tag...
Many ripping programs will do this automatically for you.

Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and have looked around for a solution to this

Folks,
After four weekends trying different distros, I managed to find one that
recognized my SATA drives.
After that, I had to fight with the network card, now I'm online with a new

I've used YaST to install the RPM, and I've looked for the SuSE startup

I own a SB1 and tried ripping a Dolby Digital 5.1 file to FLAC. Playing

correctly).

I'm done speaking mine. There are enough posts on this and other threads

Thanks for your help everyone. I found a version of wget for Windows
and created a scheduled task to run the command every morning at 5AM.
It seems to be working well, so I'm a happy camper.

I'm now at R3342 and the problem appears to have gone away. I haven't
been able to make the visualiser appear at the same time as text.
This happened every single time before, so I think you can probably be
fairl confident that the problem's fixed.
Thanks for the quick response!

I noticed the other night that the display on my SB2 was not actually
powered down, but was merely not displaying anything. With no lights
on in the room, I could see the display glowing slightly, and when I
looked closely, I could see small lines of light down the left and

Thank you for that - I was aware of the discussions but not sure of the root

This has been "fixed" in the 6.1 nightlies - case is ignored for artist
bucketing.

There has been a lot of debate on this subject. Currently there is no
switch in SlimServer to cure this. Best bet is to fix your tags. Just
