Hi
Just wondering whether there is a plubin or something that can monitor
in real time the SB3's wireless signal strength. I know it can be done
from the remote, however, that stops music playing, I'm hoping to see
how it goes whilst the SB3 is playing.

Hi Cephid...
Did some more testing. Removing the & in the file name doesn't fix the
problem. At least in this case, the issue with mov123 is all about the
length of the file name. It appears that no part of the file name
(including delimiting "." can exceed 60 characters). Using the same
exam

No, there's no way to use WPA with the SB1. I don't recall if it's a

When you click the volume control on Ubuntu, you get a little mixer with
three sliders on it. There is Master, PCM and PC Speaker. I guess PCM
stands for PC Music or something similar. This slider moves when you
select different volumes in the slimserver web interface.

both SS and the ROKU SEE, that it still will only play the first song?

personally I set it to 30 seconds. This appears to work well. At least
once it downloads it, it'll just use the cached information, which I
actually set for 200 days, so it doesn't have to pull from allmusic.com
all the time...

I just picked up a 770 today nd not experiencing any the problems you've
listed.
Nice device, it is slow and definitely needs more memory. Example is I
tried to load Pandora player via their website with no other 770 Apps
open and Pandora fails to fully load.

Ah, the perils of the closed source format.
AFAIK, you can't play .m4a files back with anything but mov123. I know
of one "Quicktime Alternative" program but it still uses mov123 as the
decoder - it's really just a slimmed-down 3rd party version of
Quicktime.
You may want to arrange your files

One fact you might have missed is it can take a while for Slimserver to
scan your music library.
So perhaps what happened is you hit rescan, checked and found only the
first song had been scanned (but in the background the scan was
proceeding). Then, when you checked a while later, the scan had
26 here... but some grey hair.

Lack of reaction I doubt it. It's working for me.
I get a "There was an error parsing the stream information.
Try reducing the number of streams if you've set a great number. (2)"
message.

I am having a problem streaming any internet radio streams (radioio,
radioparadise.com, etc) thru either softsqueeze (v2.3 with java v5 and
java mp3 layer) or thru localhost:9000/stream.mp3.
I can stream flac music from my harddrive no problem however.
I have 2 players setup - 1 for remote inter

'jumping beans' (equaliser screensaver) dance to his favourite songs.
He knows how to cue them up by pressing the favourite button then the
play button on the remote.

When you say you trashed all the slimserver stuff - does that include
manually deleting your slimserversql.db file (not necessarily deleted
on an uninstall via Add / Remove Programs) ?
The database system is very different between 6.5 and 6.2.2. and other
people have reported problems downgradi

I take it your slimserver is close by where you want to use this
monitor? Otherwise you will need a pretty long monitor cable.
I would imagine the Nokia 770 skin would work fine, but you need 6.5
for that.

When this happened to me, it was because the ID3 tags were incorrect.

ID3 editor.

The Voyager series of outdoor speakers from Boston Acoustics are very
nice. Completely weatherproof - a magazine did a test where they
completely immersed the speakers in a tub and they kept playing fine.
They sound good, too.
