I2S output as an alternative to SPDIF!!! This is not a big deal technically, but would allow to pretty much eliminate jitter associated with SPDIF design flaws. At this very moment there are just few DAC boxes that can receive I2S, but it's gaining moment tremendously. -- 325xi

The infamous ground loop. I assume these are self-powered monitors? Try a power bar or a different outlet. Move the interconnects away from AC power cords. Test your outlet to make sure it has proper grounding. Ground loops are the curse of audio equipment. Sometimes it's so hard to recify
