To the guys having problems:
I've tested this on several machines (all talking to a slimserver on a
remote host) and several people I work with are running it OK, so I'd
like to figure out what is different about your set-up, if I may.
One thing I think might be happening is the commands are goin
didn't work at all!
Now my slim.exe won't start and its giving me a bunch of encoding
erros.
slim.exe runs fine if I just switch back to English (US) as my locale
what gives?

OK guys, I -think- I've found the problem and fixed it.
It was a really weird problem where I think the system was caching the
URLs after a few button presses, and I think it's dependent on the
version of IE you have. Any how...
Can you please try version 1.2.6, this fixes the caching problem.

I've been running SlimServer 6.5.2 on the WHS RC1 release (and the
Beta2 before that) without any trouble. I don't use iTunes, so I can't

First, the main concession is the "per-channel" fee that tended to hurt

sometimes uses the album art embedded in the file's tag, sometimes
(various) file(s) in the file's folder. I don't pretend to understand

except that i didn't move the sb. the router was broken and i bought a
new one. three sb total. all wireless. the oldest of them shows exactly
the same problems. the other two are working just fine. some official
input (logitech/slim devices) would be really helpful.

Recently I tried to browse my collection using the Browse Year selection
and found less than 50% of my MP3 tagged correctly with both ID 1 and 2

What is the format of your "YEAR" tag? TORY (Original release year) or
TYER (Year) or TDRC (also Year).
If TDRC and you are using a Year value which is greater than 4 digits,

yesterday, I am running with CP=950 Chinese(HK SAR).
I tried uninstalling SlimServer and installing 6.5.3 from scratch, but
still cannot start up slim.exe. I have now revert back to 6.5.2, and

Another vote for the Aego M. For your budget, and needing amplified

The slimserver package I had installed only included the 'debian' skin,
which didn't have the download link. I uninstalled this package, and
installed the newest debian package from slimdevices.com and it
included all of the regular skin (and the download link I was looking
for.

I'm looking for the same thing. I used to use TVersity, but recently
moved to Linux and I've lost the ability to stream anything to my 360.
I see there are a few projects evolving to support Linux, but I don't
have my notes with me. A few minutes with google should give you some
leads.

play than freeze and unplug/replug necessary. But without the message.
As this wasn't radios I was interested in, I let go. You should open a

If it is an OGG stream then the workaround is to disable under Server
Settings/Filetypes OGG (built-in)

Also consider wireless interference - something could be creating burst
of "Noise" which is disrupting the SB3-Slimserver connection. Moving
the SB3 may have moved it closer to the source of the noise.

I'm thinking of doing that also... Is there such a thing as painless
wireless? There's always a problem. My damn wireless router stops
working once in a while. Not sure why. The only solution I found so far
is resetting it. Now, that doesn't even work anymore. I'll try upgrading

You can stream to a 360 using a uPnP server.
I've tried both TonkyVision and TVersity (which are both 'generic' UPNP
servers) and they work fine with the 360. TVersity also supports
transcoding video to the 360 (but you'll need a mega weight PC and
network)
But you can't play direct from Slimserv
If you are using Windows then there is a bug (
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5164 ) which may cause your
system to lock up (if single core processor) for up to 1 min when you
press stop to stop playing the OGG stream.
