The overlap? I think winamp does it by overlaying the next track as the
first starts to lose energy, and very rapidly fading the first track
once the next is playing. Luckily it's easy to demonstrate - just play

The SB can't alter the files which are physically stored on your hard
drive, but its database may get corrupted from time to time. There are
also problems with McAfee which sees the scanning function of Slimserver
as "suspicious" and can block access. Can you add an exception for

Something must have screwed up your file system badly.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't slimserver though.
Do you remember what you did on your computer just before the SB3

If something has affected your physical music folders, it's likely to be
on your host machine. Slimserver doesn't have the ability to do
anything other than read your music AFAIK. Do a virus scan (update
McAfee first) - that would be my first guess as to what might have

It could in some cases - with songs that end cold, for example, or in
the case of joined tracks - but if applied judiciously (by not
overdoing the number of seconds of overlap, say) I think it could sound
pretty good most of the time.
Fading a song with a cold end sounds pretty weird too.

My major reason of buying SB is for its sound quality and its outlook.
If in addition SS can support commercially available NAS will be
prefect.
Interestingly Netware NAS states that it support SS in their web site!
How about others?
Unfortunately the Netware price is almost a basic PC!

i think there is quite a bit of skin development going into SS 7. There
may not be anything specific for the iPhone, but if more advanced skins
are being produced, it should be able to handle them just fine too.
I wouldn't be surprised to see an iPhone specific skin, considering the

Have you disable the MusicMagic plugin. I found that that caused all
kinds of problems if there was a problem character in a filename or tag

I went as far as to remove the plugin files to get it to work properly.
I proved this by reinstalling the plugin and doing a wipe and

Is there a way to see the features and release timeline of the SS7

Sorry, that's incorrect. Or rather, it was correct for SB1s (and
probably SLiMP3s) but is not correct for SB2 or above. You can

Yeah, tell me about it - I have an XM receiver in both my wife's and my
car. If I could play an account on my Squeezebox it would be an awesome
alternative to the other Internet radio providers.
Come on Slim/Logitech -

The plugins are nice - when they work - but I'm talking about *official*
Squeezenetwork support (or better yet official support from within
SlimServer). This is something Logitech/Slim could brag about on the
front page
Still, the plugins are a nice thing.

My SB3 has been running fine for a couple of years. In the last few
days its stuck with the "Connecting to..." message and never completes
boot. Nothing has changed on the server, no software upgrade and no
firmware upgrade on the SB. (Its currently running firmware v28 as far
as I can tell).
