My Wireless router is a Buffalo; I have disabled any "acceleration"
features for the wireless, justto make sure, but that did not change
anything.
since I have changed the IP to static the SB3 has not crashed anymore.
Only a couple of times it has restarted a
DTS recordings (official) are not the same as standard redbook CDs. To
legally use them you must have purchased the original DTS recording.
So to remain legal you must delete the DTS downloads if you don't have
the original DTS recording.

Is the antenna in the SB3 a dipole? Where is it centered, etc? I am
trying to see if I can make a parabolic for it, based on the free
antenna designs.

Get one of the billions of FM transmitters made for pod people. They
are really cheap. Hook it to your SB audio out and listen in the
kitchen on an FM radio.

What you're describing smacks of network issues. Check the quality of
your network connectivity using the Network Test plugin. Are you on
wireless?

Another SB will also give you the option to escape to the kitchen and
listen to something other than the Wife's James Blunt in the lounge.

All sb3s now have a two year warranty. So long as you have a normal
covered by warranty repair there should be no charge.

In my experience, a lack of response usually means the server is busy.
If this continues, it means the server has its memory bogged down and
needs a reboot to restore a good response.

Actually, now it looks like the Squeezebox is neither processing nor
forwarding network broadcast packets. Has anyone seen that behavior

I'm still experiencing a problem I've had for a while whereby the SB3
doesn't always respond to the remote. It will sometimes go down 3 or 4
menu levels and then not respond for another 30 seconds. I've replaced
the remote batteries and I'm sure it's not waiting for the server to
bring the disks
I have 6.5.4 running on Leopard on a MacBook Pro. Other than changing

I've tried restarting SB but results in an error message.

the desk footprint is indeed tiny. Just one thing to look out for: the
woofer is quite big and should ideally be placed not too far from the

avoid an unnecessary AD/DA conversion.

Still have not resolved my issue after spending part of the weekend
trying to fix it up.
My problem is that the SB3 will stop playing at a song. It will then
always stop at the same point in the song.
I can only replicate this problem when running SS on Windows Home
Server.
If I run
There is no Europe wide requirement for a two year warranty. The
Consumer Goods and Guarantees Directive mandates a two year period from
delivery within which consumers can claim against any non-conformity,
which is not quite the same thing (and UK law already sets that limit
at six years).

success.
I was wondering if the TCP/IP stack in the SB3 was a bit flaky too. By

was a reasonable workaround that didn't require too much fuss or muss

as long as volunteers are willing to contribute. You can't expect more or
better features just because it's OS.
