Have you seen the Squeezebox Touch

Hi,
Any products like that coming out? I guess it would need to be battery
powered and splashproof / humid proof.
Cheers,

The thing is: The Transporter was sold specifically for use without a

I don't have a boom for testing Hint.
Currently the Squeezebox boom uses a different IR language with less IR
commands.
Will have to look into this further.

Once you have the file and you can make your app launch an

BTW it doesn't overlay but
The boom is fairly good against humidity. A few people have them
installed in bathrooms. Splash proof? It sounds like you should
install bathroom ceiling speakers.

A way to read rtp through squeezeNetwork (so without pc or nas on),
would be GREATLY appreciated.
If I get a squeezebox, I'll have to stop listening to my favourite

What exactly is kbps? Is it better to have a station with a high # or a
smaller #. I am listening to a station with 24 kbps and it buffered up
quickly and the sound is ok. It is a talk station. Since it buffered
quickly I thought that the lower # was preferrable so this is why I
asked. I guess I
Higher is better for sound quality, lower is better, as you have
discovered, for buffering.
kbps = kilobits per second.
This is the data rate of the encoded audio being sent to the player.
Talk stations can get away with much lower bitrates than music stations,
as the audio is much less
Ok, here is a (not so) simple question :
What is preventing rtsp from being implemented ?
Any technical or legal issues ? Or some other stuff took priority ?
Any hope for it someday ?

RTSP would be useful for some WMA stations that stream using
MMS-over-RTSP. But all it takes for these stations to stream using the
HTTP method we do support is checking a single checkbox in the WM Server
admin tool. So it hasn't been a priority for us to support. RTSP is

RTSP is just the control protocol. It basically sets up the session
and control thereof (setup, teardown, pause ..). Many very popular apps
support it, not sure if elements of the SC solution do or don't.
The actual data is then transported with RTP (real time protocol) which
carries tiemstamps
The RealAudio RTSP is different to the standard RTSP as it was used as a
basis for the standard RTSP but is not compliant with RTSP.
This mean when you build mplayer you sometimes have to choose which
flavour of RTSP you want to include.

Are the URL's available somewhere within SqueezeNetwork or elsewhere in
a form that can be copied? I've tried to find this, but can only see
them on the controller, and in SqueezeNetwork, and in both places they

Did you try getting the URLs by opening the streams using a music player
