I use a lot of smart playlists in iTunes and could never get them to work well with SBS. One way around the problem (ie what I do) is recreate the smart playlists using Erland's plug-ins. Have a look at CustomScan (which will import ratings and play counts from iTunes into SBS), then SQLPlaylist

I now the dacmagic and others have a usb and optical input and if the PC sends just a digital signal a 0 or 1s to the DAC to convert into analog I cant see the problem, if its wirelessly done or not. The same as if the squeeze box sent a digital signal via the optical output to a dac. Its either
