I use a lot of smart playlists in iTunes and could never get them to work well with SBS. One way around the problem (ie what I do) is recreate the smart playlists using Erland's plug-ins. Have a look at CustomScan (which will import ratings and play counts from iTunes into SBS), then SQLPlaylist

Hi CW, They're smart playlists - I hadn't even considered that might be the issue. Ideally - I would prefer to keep them as smart playlists becuase I use them with my itunes and ipod, allowing me to update the playlists as I add new music or change ratings etc. I'll create some static playlists

Found surprisingly little about this when I searched: if I use my SB3 or boom wirelessly, the text stutters when scrolling on the device's display. Not enough to be unusable, but it's annoying. Wired, they're fine. Both devices show signal strength of 70%+, my PC is a Core2Duo 3.00Ghz with 4Gb

I now the dacmagic and others have a usb and optical input and if the PC sends just a digital signal a 0 or 1s to the DAC to convert into analog I cant see the problem, if its wirelessly done or not. The same as if the squeeze box sent a digital signal via the optical output to a dac. Its either

Sounds like you are looking for something more along the lines of the Rocketfish wireless audio products - they accept an audio input and broadcast it wirelessly to a receiver; options include a receiver that will provide audio outputs to connect to an existing sound system or wireless speakers.

FYI - the receivers are supposed to be available for sale outside of the Duet package, but currently they cannot be found at any US retailers INCLUDING logitech - posts from Logitech employees claim they are supposed to fix the situation, but to my knowledge it hasn't happened. You might consider

See the 3rd party section for the newest info on SoftSqueeze v3.9 Note that there is also a plug-in that puts the install process in the Extra's menu (as it used-to-be.) This make installation a snap compared to SqueezePlay. P -- pski real stereo doesn't wake neighbors (it enrages them)

Yes it will transcode with the help of flac and sox . Seeing that you are on a x86 and have 7.4.1 it should just work, right off. You should get the 2ch FLAC files 5.1 won't do with lossles on a squeezebox They have test files, just try them.
