If you want to use the standard SBS software, I'd do as Michael
suggests, just download it automatically from Logitech at installation
or first startup.
However, if you want to customize it you have two options:
1. Contact Logitech to get permissions
OR
2. If you are only supporting OSX/Linux,
There seems to be some problem with the mailinglist gateway and daylight

hour too late.
I've seen several examples this morning where I've seen Michael's posts

Might actually have been my mail agent which didn't pick up the time

while the just testing was before.

Hi all,
Ive been running SB for a couple of years with great result.
First my collection was on my local PC as was the server. Then I moved
my music on a NAS as the collection grew. This has all been running
fine.
I run a win7 pc and a Promise NS4300 NAS. A week ago with no apparent
change the
Sounds like something is very wrong. I'd contact support or return it.
Why was there no remote from the seller?
There are retail demonstration/display SB3's that get sold as used
SB3's. These units are not upgradable or usable beyond a basic pre
programmed demonstration mode.

thanks for the replies. A pitty no official is reacting.
The question was more about the evaluation of all available options.
I'm too lazy to build a live image or distribution. Users should read
documentation an learn how to use their system ;)

This is a legal question and since Logitech is a large company I doubt
anybody would offer any sort of answer without getting it checked by
company lawyers.

Quite simple, ship only the firmware .version files and the .bin files
will be automatically downloaded on first start.

Because I'm considering purchasing a Transporter, I'd like to read what
owners are writing about it, but I don't see a forum dedicated to the

What's up?
Did I miss something?

Looking to add a remote to my Squeezebox classic. Is anyone able to
comment on the pro's and con's of the Squeezecenter remote or using
something instead like an Ipod Touch?
ie: How well does an Ipod Touch act as a remote?

I've had both and used both. I prefer the iPod touch or iTouch. The
album art is larger for one, and I could not get used to the scroll
wheel on the SqueezeBox remote.
The iPeng app for the iTouch is excellent.

Agree! Itouch is my pick. Have the duet and itouch. The itouch with
the larger screen makes it so much easier to read. I use album review
and biography a lot and reading on the duet is just to small and the
scroll with the wheel is a bit awkward compared to just running your

Many thanks! + the iTouch is cheaper too!
And you can access web apps with it? eg: My media streamer has a web

No options ... need to be set at the startup because iPeng will

After that, you can of course alter the iPeng settings if you like...

No, there are no options for doing this. To change the web interface you
would have to edit the code (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) yourself.

Under my Switch Library option I am only showing two Squeezebox Servers

There is nothing else there.
