thanks ghostrider! your seggestion also pointed me to the "factory reset" option - which i decided to try first. and it worked! set up networking again and everything (!) is back to the way it was. :-) on a side note: how could a boom "forget" its original MAC address? -- dcote -

Yep, I just went through this. For me the fix was in two stages. First, I went ahead to do the iTunes plus upgrade, and that fixed about 95% of the tracks for me. For the other 5% I downloaded one of the many programs that will convert the protected version to another format by burning playlists t

It may just be a loose power connection. Check this by wiggling the power connection at the player, see if this causes a reboot. Could be a failing PSU as well. And, no, "losing WiFi" is not normal. What is the WiFi signal strength on your player? Possible interference near by? Router failing
