i have to say that my exps with upnp and DLNA are not overwhelmingly
positive, but it does mostly work to some degree, just not usually
elegant.
interestingly, thats exactly what i think of the squeezebox paradigm.
neither one is elegant.
by far, the single best thing about apple is airplay. i

Logitech misunderstood this product and messed up development in so many
ways. They could have really made something of it but they blew it,
concentrating on the hardware and
I tend to think, sadly, that for slim devices to make money, they need to
integrate video. Audio fans want their crisp neat audio interface, but I
think the mass market wants video as well - they want their downloaded
tv/movies, they want youtube and netflix and whatever else they are
watching.

I'm working on a music streaming related project and want to get a
better feeling of how large an average local music library used by
community members with Squeezeboxes today.
I'm interested of your library size independent if you are running
SBS/LMS on a computer or if you are using the built-in
I have a Spotify premium subscription. It works fine on android devices
and pc's. But the only way I can make Spotify work on Squeezeboxes (I
have both Duet and Touch) is when running Logitech Media Server on my
PC. When changing Library to mysqueezebox.com Spotify becomes silent.

That's what I figured here, too, having the same experience. With the
Boom and Controller never having problems and with five other wireless
devices not complaining about connectivity, "it had to be the Duet".
But replacing the router has made the Duet as reliable as everything
else, even reconn
With regard to worrying about what will become of the Squeezebox product
line and the reasons behind this, surely it all comes down to
investment?
The purchase of an £80 box to stream media to the TV requires little
invested in either time or money; if the product line is discontinued by

This weekend, I was in a MediaMarkt, and, as usual, was checking if they
were still selling Squeezebox.
There was a huge stock of Radio, they were selling the 3 different
colours. There was even one switched on but not connected to msb or LMS
(as usual)! So no way to test or hear it...

You don't have to do things the "Apple way". You can jailbreak ATV1 and
ATV2, and presumably the ATV3 will follow.
With the jailbreak, you're able to install XBMC. XBMC should give you
all of the flexibility you want to stream your content.
In my personal case, I have my XBMC master system tha
It included the battery, eh? Interesting.
This thing is "new"? :o

Was this a part of their latest semi-annual corporate restructuring?
They sure change often, but they never change much.

I have had my squeezebox for only 24 hours when my beloved puppy decided
to bite the electrical wire. (He bit it off while it was unplugged).
Pardon my bad english... Now when I bought a new ac adapter the thing
won't start. Help! If I hold the power butten the logitech logo comes up

Thanks Tony
I think you need UpNp controller- but I am not sure it has to be lms-
anyone else have an idea? Will whitebear work with any uPNP controller?

I've taken the steps you've outlined, however no improvement. Just for
clarification;
app is present in app gallery
when I select app it opens
when I select a "station", the "now playing" window up-dates with the
artwork, title info, & timer
the timer/clock will be begin running, however no audi

neither the apple TV nor the airport express has a display. the apple
TV does connect to a TV obviously. but apple has determined that there
is little to no need for the media adapter you connect to your other
gear to have a display, and i agree with that. in most usage cases, its
