Hi Erland,
here my opinion ...
We are 4 people 2 adults, 2 kids (9 & 11 y). There are 2 players for the
home stereo and me and the kids have separate players. All media is
stored on a central server.
Individual favourites would be nice but is not that important.
Individual playlists can easily

And my answer is: it depends on the driver, not on the hardware. If the
driver is able to sync the output on the DAC side, it will work.
Me are not talking about synchronization in microsecond levels, the
maximum allowed delay is 10ms and as soon as the delay is constant, it
can be even much longe
Thanks guys, I'll look into upgrading my NAS box to something
appropriate.
In the meantime, how do I connect to MySqueezebox.com on my Duet? It's
dead easy on the Boom - just select my squeezebox, but when I do that on
the Duet it doesn't actually do anything. Thoughts?

But the biggest impact on timing is actually in the driver, isn't it? If
it dynamically buffers and you get an unpredictable delay between
queuing up samples and the time they are actually being played, you've
got no chance to stay in sync while a driver with a small internal
buffer playing out im
Seems like the best way to tackle it would be to just add another Genre
that is your mood. Squeezebox server supports multiple Genres so if you
add Genre "Mellow" in addition to what's already in the Genre you could
do a Dynamic playlist for Genre "Mellow".

Sync depends on the player h/w having an accurate RTC clock. LMS makes
sync decisions based on the clock values return by player.
Have you tried adjusting the sync params for the player in the LMS
Settings/Player/Synchronize page and also looking at the LMS log to see
why LMS is making adjustmen

compensate for the lack of squeezebox compatible hardware since logitech
decided to cancel the product line, but either the replacement hardware

+1 on trying the smartmix plugin. You can set certain parameters with
it that can create the "mood" you seek.

Hi and welcome to the world of digital music. It will all become much
clearer once you dive in. You really have 3 major topics to explore:
1. File organization and tagging
2. using LMS and your Squeezeboxes
3. learning your way around the VB
1. Your first steps should be to correct/edit/manage

First, you need to separate out the various issues you have into smaller

Mp3tag is a great program for editing the tags on your mp3 files. You
need to play about with it a bit to get a feel for the various
features.
