Thanks again guys,
I've changed to a fixed wifi channel - 6 - along with the other
settings. My cordless phones are old, and beginning to play up in other
ways, so probably makes sense to change them for newer tech.
I just thought I'd come back on the microwave thing though. A while back

Hello,
I've been using 2 Duet system for about 6 years and love them.
One thing I have always wanted to looking into is if their is a way to
auto level various audio tracks.
each flac album has it own dynamic volume, and when going from older
albums to newer the tracks the vol is an annoying
If your files have replay gain tags in them then LMS will do exactly
what you want, with various different options in the settings relating
to gain.
I believe either DBPoweramp or Foobar2000 can help with tagging the
files.

Just read at

that the UE Smartradio has been discontinued. So where does this leave
the Squeezebox/UE line? If the hardware is no longer being sold then is
there any life left in my player? I know this question has

so in dbpoweramp I can select my entire library to scan and only add

Also all files are flac.

Be very careful that when you do this you are creating replay gain TAGS
as opposed to changing the actual audio in the file.
I've never done this retrospectively in dbPoweramp (although all new
rips are tagged appropriately) but when tagging already ripped tracks in
Media Monkey you can do both.

I don't think anything Logitech does would prevent you listening to your
ripped CD collection. Your best bet to avoid issues with streaming that
depend on mysqueezebox.com is to update to the latest LMS 7.8 when it
gets a general release:

Are the last played tracks displayed properly in the LMS web interface

yes, you convert to the REPLAY GAIN DSP in dbpa (*not* ReplayGain

I use winamp to add RG tags, and it adds both track and album versions
of the tags, and then I use smartgain on the server for playback.
there may be a better program to add RG tags tho.

I would really appreciate it if someone who has win7 and the firewall

Just upgrade to 7.8 - been on various versions of that for a year or

stopped making the players, but you can still pick a few up either new

Better to include album gain now when adding track grain values, rather

I'm now ready to move on to new hardware. I'm changing almost all my

Just FYI, I thought the thread I linked to had all my settings for the
firewall being on in Win7. These rules also are the same on my WHS2011
server which is basically Server 2008 which is really much the same code
as Win7. What AV software do you use, that can also get in the way.
