Just because the core engine is Linux doesn't mean it has to be exposed
to the user.
I've got an 4 SB3's (vintage!) one of which has is sporadic in taking
instruction from its remote.
I've done a bit of testing with it and noticed that 1) if I take the
remote to one of the other SB3s, it works fine (so the issue appears to
be with that SB3, rather than the remote control).

You probably already have several (maybe dozens) of Linux-based
appliances in your home without even realising it: most modern TVs,
PVRs, etc (probably even toasters these days) are built on

Didn't know about that one, but it requires an external DAC and I'm not

Do you have any idea if anyone actually sells it ? I could find a lot of
redistributors on their site but

Yes, the SOtM sMS-1000 is more in the price range of the Transporter.
I found the SOtM sMS-100 on eBay for EUR 499 and you would also need a
reasonably cheap USB DAC for additionally EUR 50-100 to make it

Just to add that we're not far off launching our product, which will
also be Squeeze compatible. Looks like there'll be a few options for

I use MixZing, and it works well. However, I don't think it has a play

I have three WB's running all without issues. Even sync'd they work very
well and I consider them as true Squeezeboxes.
There are plenty of ARM boards out there who are running

That's odd. They should sync perfectly.

UE is no Squeezebox. Squeezebox was abandoned a few years ago!
And by the way, Logitech also dropped the UE Radio. So that story is
over too.
