Hi, You don't need much cpu power to run LMS. Especially not if you use flac, since flac is natively supported by all squeezeboxes. If you use not natively supported file formats, you need cpupower for transcoding of lms. Also if you play resolutions that are not supported, for example 24/96 on a

Personally I'd try changing the power supply first - being temperamental about switching on is often the sign that the PSU is starting to get a bit lazy. This is particularly true if the PSU is a cheap supplied with case item.
